Our Daycare Manager, Danielle, got into the spirit too. What a clown!

Come back later this week for a complete report of the day's events, as well as a list of contest and raffle winners (and more photos too!). Until then, here are a few photos.

Members of the Central MA Disaster Animal Response Team will also be on-hand to answer questions about emergency preparedness for pets and animals. Be sure to stop by and say hi to JoAnn.

Members of the CMDART team prepare to give baths to the Otis arrivals who came in September after Katrina. Tyvex suits were used to aid prevention of contamination from affected animals.

What's With the Pile of Rocks in the Parking Lot?

No, it's not some new modern art. It's 50 tons of replacement river rock for our outdoor playarea! The landscapers are scheduled to install the rock starting Thursday morning, so please be alert as you drop off your dog or come in for a class.

There's bound to be extra noise, machinery, and workers moving around, so please be extra careful out there. Thanks!

"Every Dog Is Different" Seminar Held at Gemini Dogs

This past Saturday, 85 people attended a Dogs of Course seminar held at Gemini Dogs, titled "Every Dog Is Different." Guest speakers Ray Coppinger, Bruce Blumberg, and Carolyn Barney discussed the evolution of dogs and wolves, differences among breeds of dogs, how our dogs' perception of the environment differs from our view of the same, and how we can apply these differences to life with our dogs.

For example, if your terrier likes to chase chipmunks, why not use that natural tendency to your advantage? You can use the chasing of the chipmunks as a reward for holding that sit stay when you open the door! What better motivator for your pooch than something she naturally perceives as wonderful?
