Help Wanted

We are busy, busy, busy, and need a few extra hardworking dog lovers to join our team!

Doggie Daycare Positions
Hours vary and may include weekend days and overnights; therefore, applicants must be over 18 years old. Experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right person who loves dogs, has great customer service skills, and is a hard worker. Experience in a barn, kennel, vet clinic, etc. is a bonus.

Office Positions
We are also looking for people to help in the office to answer phones, tend to customer questions, help maintain class schedules and rosters, and do light computer work. Prior experience running an office is a plus.

Apply online or email your resume. No calls please.

Treats For the Daycare Staff!

We received a nice email from Lisa B. earlier this week. Thanks for the kind words, Lisa!

Hi Danielle,

I always want to tell you what an excellent job I think you (and the whole staff) does at Gemini, but of course, at drop-off and pick-up time it is usually a little loud to have that conversation! I love the Newsletter to read about everything that is going on - I had a minute so I thought I'd let you know.

I have particularly noticed how clean (!) and organized the whole place seems since you have taken over as daycare manager. I am so glad you are back!

Lucy loves it at Gemini and so do we! It has been the best thing for her. She has been a challenge since day one, but lately I noticed she's growing up and really seems to "get it" now!

Thanks again,
Lisa B.

On Course For Kids Tonight!

For the past several years, members of the Gemini Dogs family have participated in On Course For Kids, a team agility event that creates a fun night for patients and their families while raising money for the Floating Children’s Cancer Center Childlife program in Boston, MA. Each team consists of two agility dogs, their owners, and a child from the Center.

Gemini Dogs instructors Carolyn Barney and Denielle Stasa participate in the event, while owner Michelle Borelli and several Gemini customers volunteer. If you would like to donate to the Gemini teams, volunteer, or participate, contact Dana Crevling (email) or visit the OCFK website. Thank you!

We're Gemini Dogs!

Gemini Dogs customer Heather McCauley sent in this family portrait and wrote:

You’ll see that Herbie, Gus and Nick really got sit down to an art at Gemini Dog School. Now all they do is pose all day long!

Thanks Heather! Email us a photo of your Gemini Dog and we'll see if we can't give you 15 minutes of Internet fame! :-)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to our entire Gemini Dogs family! Thank you for continuing to choose us for the best training, daycare, boarding, and grooming around.

Enjoy the day, shop til you drop, and love your dogs! Safe travels to all!

Even though this is the only appropriate picture I could find when I searched for "turkey dog", I did find some information on the national dog of Turkey, the Kangal Dog. Enjoy!

$400 Donated to CMDART Thanks to You!

We are happy to announce that we raised $400 for the Central MA Disaster Animal Response Team (CMDART) at our Howl-o-Ween Festival a few weeks ago! Thank you to everyone who entered the raffle and participated in all the doggie activities! Your entry fees were donated directly to CMDART. Woof!

What is a DART?
In case you were unable to stop by the CMDART booth, a DART team is part of the call-down list for the emergency management agencies when a disaster strikes. If animals are affected by fire, tornado, hurricane, or flooding, for example, emergency managers call on state or local authorities to get people in place to assist with evacuation, shelter, and care of the affected animals.

Those people then call DART teams into service and their members meet and coordinate with other teams to assist in disaster recovery services. Tasks can include transportation of supplies, setting up a temporary shelter, assembling crates, interviewing owners, photographing the animals, and feeding and exercising the animals.

Gemini Dogs is currently listed as an evacuation site for Littleton and surrounding communities should people be forced to evacuate their homes and need a place for their pets.

Gemini Dogs DART Planned
We hope to form our own DART within the next year. If you are interested in joining, please visit the CMDART website and join them for now. Then once we are ready to form our team, you can transfer membership. In the meantime, you will have developed the necessary skills and obtained the required certifications you need to respond in a disaster.

After joining CMDART, you'll need to complete these two FEMA-sponsored online courses before being able to respond to any disaster:
Thank you once again for your generosity!
